Section Leader / Module Leader – Cockpit & Interior Role mission:

To take ownership of the Life Cycle Projects Management from a R&D perspective for Interiors. This role will be mainly office based but does have a requirement to travel to attend our plants and/or supplier sites to check the physical parts condition, check fitment with other functions and conduct activities at plants with support from Cross Functional teams. You will be responsible to achieve Projects QCT.

Section Leader / Module Leader – Cockpit & Interior Role Responsibilities:

• To work in accordance with company procedures, work and operating instructions which comply with the requirements of TS 16949.
• To lead Life Cycle Projects QCT from R&D perspective and manage all team members.
• To draw and implement Strategies/Action Plans to achieve departmental objectives.
• To outline detail tasks, follow up, review and make judgment on the technical studies using engineering tools and techniques to ensure design quality assurance is achieved.
• To lead failure modes analysis activities with plant functions whilst suggesting possible countermeasures.
• Single point leadership contact between R&D and internal/external customers.
• To actively pursue and take ownership of tasks to meet the functional objective targets/commitments.
• To be able to create and follow up timing plans.
• Use company software systems/packages to support design release process and customer requirements.
• To carry out Benchmarking for continuous competitiveness improvement.
• Produce reports and present findings for Management review.
• Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental systems requirements.

Section Leader / Module Leader – Cockpit & Interior profile:

• Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related engineering discipline.
• Proven Leadership experience of Interior Projects from a development perspective within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
• Experience of designing Interior Trim component/system with good understanding of manufacturing processes like injection moulding, in mould film or sheet metal parts.
• Excellent Engineering Techniques such as GD&T, FTA, DFMEA, Problem Solving, etc.

Section Leader / Module Leader – Cockpit & Interior requirement:

• Demonstrate Leadership skills in achieving delivery of projects in the automotive industry.
• Drive efficiency and improvement measures within the department and support measures in business.
• Excellent understanding of interior parts design and performance requirements.
• Knowledge of Program Management tools and techniques.
• Previous experience related to high complexity projects and multidisciplinary working environment.
• Ability to lead design reviews with the Customer and Cross-function/Regional teams.
• To be able to plan, lead and execute activities for themselves and team members to achieve functional objectives.
• Ability to set and review objectives for team members and provide coaching where necessary.
• Factual, data driven- ability to analyse data, summarise root causes, countermeasures and conclusions.
• Flexibility and the ability to work on a variety of tasks.
• Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
• Proactive and delivery with focussed attention to detail.
• Execute PDCA Cycle at all the times.
• Be able to build good relationships at all levels and functions internally and with customer.
