<p>The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven capability and experience of designing and developing software for high performance embedded systems.</p>
<p><em>Your main tasks and responsibilities as <strong>Software Engineer</strong> </em><strong>Chassis</strong><em> will include:</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Realisation of embedded software for 8-, 16- and 32-bit microcontrollers using established company design practices and software life cycles in line with the ISO2001:2008 quality system and high integrity design standards;</li>
<li>Interpretation of system requirements in collaboration with systems and hardware engineers to generate software requirements using semi-formal methods;</li>
<li>Code implementation using C/C++ programming languages, assembly language and automatic code generation from modelled environments; Undertake EV components, system and vehicle development and problem-solving within tight timescales.</li>
<li>Generation and execution of test plans and reports at all levels of the “V” life cycle, including unit/structural tests, integration tests and verification/validation tests;</li>
<li>Generation and formal review of technical documentation and artefacts from the design process;</li>
<li>Participation in FMEA, HAZOP, FTA and other analysis techniques</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><em>Software Engineer Chassis</em></strong><em> requirements:</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Degree-qualified in an appropriate science or engineering discipline;</li>
<li>Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within an embedded system product development environment;</li>
<li>Experience of programming using C, C++, C# and assembly languages;</li>
<li>Experience in Windows Embedded, Embedded Linux, Visual Studio and Eclipse;</li>
<li>Experience using requirements management and specification tools e.g. DOORS, Cradle, MKS Integrity;</li>
<li>Experience using configuration management tools e.g. MKS;</li>
<li>Experience with software analysis methodologies e.g. Yourdon SASD or UML;</li>
<li>Experience with CAN based test tools e.g. Canalyser, CANoe, Canape, PCAN or ValueCAN;</li>
<li>Experience of current ADAS applications e.g. ACC, EBA, LDW, LKA or autonomous vehicles;</li>
<li>Experience of ADAS sensor technologies e.g. Radar, Mono Camera, Stereo Camera, Lidar, Ultrasonic;</li>
<li>Experience of signal processing, image processing, object tracking, classification and fusion algorithms and techniques;</li>
<li>An ability to interpret circuit schematics and understand the basic operation of electronics hardware, especially microprocessor peripheral support circuitry. Higher levels of hardware competence, especially some experience of high voltage (up to 1kV), high power systems would be advantageous;</li>
<li>Good test and analysis skills;</li>
<li>Good written and verbal communication skills;</li>

<p><strong>Systems Engineer – Automotive responsibilities:</strong></p>
<p>Analysis of customer requirements, functional safety requirements, relevant legislation and standards to develop system requirement specifications.</p>
<p>Use of proven system analysis and design methodologies to develop elegant efficient solutions to meet the project requirements.</p>
<p>Work closely with Functional Safety department to ensure the analysis and development of appropriate functional safety requirements.</p>
<p>Work closely with other engineering disciplines to develop system design specifications and algorithms.</p>
<p>Plan, conduct and review testing of new software, hardware and calibrations at a variety of levels including integration testing, dyno testing and vehicle level testing, sometimes including worldwide field trips.</p>
<p>Calibration of system functions to comply with project requirements. Complete sign-off procedures for vehicle algorithms, calibrations and final product testing. Undertake system and vehicle development and problem-solving within tight timescales.</p>
<p>Fully document the design development and verification of developed systems.</p>
<p>Understand and comply with company and customer confidentiality agreements and maintain the security of company and customer property.</p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Systems Engineer – Automotive requirements: </strong></p>
<p>Degree-qualified in a relevant science or Engineering disciplines.</p>
<p>Proven experience in a similar role within a research and development environment</p>
<p>An understanding of modern automotive systems and common automotive practices</p>
<p>Experience of requirements analysis and management, preferably using dedicated requirements management tools (eg DOORS, Cradle, MKS).</p>
<p>Experience of Configuration management Tools (eg MKS)</p>
<p>Experience of systems design methodologies</p>
<p>Hands on experience of developing control algorithms for automotive applications</p>
<p>Knowledge or familiarity of, Software C-code, MATLAB, CAN and flexray communication protocols and toolchain.</p>

<p>Experience of Power Conversion; Converter and Inverter up to 300kW.</p>
<p>Experience in HSD with latest range of Safety Processors; Infineon and NXP primarily.</p>
<p>Experienced and familiar with using ECAD; Altium, Zuken, PSpice, Spice, MathCAD including general engineering tools;</p>
<p>Experience in the use of model-based development tools including Matlab, Simulink;</p>
<p>Experience and understanding of ISO26262 including process and design methologies;</p>
<p>Good troubleshooting, test and analysis skills;</p>

<p>Unknown Recruitment is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer for our Automotive client in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity either on a permanent or contract basis to join our client’s expanding UK presence responsible for Automotive Cyber Security.</p>
<p><strong><em>Cyber Security Development Engineer responsibilities:</em></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Responsible for Automotive Cybersecurity; the cross-discipline approach to Vehicle Resilience will allow successful applicants the opportunity to work on the safety, security and connectivity aspects both internally and externally to the vehicle.</li>
<li>Using a systems engineering approach, guide customers on specifying Security and Connectivity requirements including Over the Air (OTA) updates.</li>
<li>Responsible to carry our risk assessment (TARA) on ECU’s and associated functions/features in line with ISO 21434.</li>
<li>Vehicle, System and Component level Requirements Management, decomposition and Specification definition.</li>
<li>Security alignment with customer and supplier management.</li>
<li>Responsible for developing Cyber Resilience concepts on ECU and Vehicle level.</li>
<li>Guide customers on IT and electronic engineering best practices.</li>
<li>Meeting deadlines for deliverables to quality cost and time.</li>
<li>Liaising with local and European technical design / engineering resources for project support.</li>
<li>Coordinate cross-functional reviews for the resolution of technical issues.</li>
<li>Other tasks as assigned by manager.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><em>Cyber Security Development Engineer Requirements:</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em> </em></strong>Relevant degree or similar engineering qualification. Chartership would be beneficial.</p>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronics architecture in particular vehicle networks.</li>
<li>Knowledge of regulations/standards (SAE/ISO) and associated regulatory frameworks such as ISO 21434, SAE 3061 and UNECE WP29.</li>
<li>Knowledge of software signing, secure boot and associated cryptographic techniques.</li>
<li>Familiarity with cyber-security engineering; identifying threat vectors and conducting threat</li>
<li>analysis and risk assessment in conjunction with functional safety engineering team.</li>
<li>Familiarity with authentication, encryption techniques, key management and HSM.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environment for certificates and key assignment.</li>
<li>Must be able to capture requirements, write technical specifications, integrate and test.</li>
<li>Knowledge of security techniques defined in ISO 14229 and Autosar (SecOC).</li>
<li>Strong working experience of working in the security function/s and have spent time handling security incidents and security threat management.</li>
<li>Evidence of having worked at multiple stages of the V cycle using systems engineering approach.</li>
<li>Experience in project management and product delivery; experience of software development and releasing would be beneficial.</li>
<li>Experience of working with change management tool such as JIRA, SVN, GIT; ALM and PLM knowledge would be highly beneficial.</li>
<li>You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical language into clear, accurate terminology that non-technical people will understand.</li>
<li>Able and willing to travel overseas as required by the project or company.</li>

<p><strong> </strong><strong>Hardware Electronics Engineer responsibilities: </strong></p>
<p>Providing realistic estimates of time and budgets to complete designated activities;</p>
<p>Providing accurate and timely information relating to the progress of assigned tasks and activities, problem areas, project concerns, recovery actions etc;</p>
<p>Liaising with Customer Representatives and other members of the Project Team to agree product hardware requirements, and to resolve specification deficiencies;</p>
<p>Liaising with internal and external Test Facilities to plan and support product design validation activities;</p>
<p>Liaising with internal and external Manufacturing Facilities to support product manufacture;</p>
<p>Assisting other members of the Project Team to understand the hardware design;</p>
<p>Promoting the orderly progression of hardware integration by ensuring assigned activities are completed to the schedule agreed with the Project Team;</p>
<p>Generating work plans for Electronic Technicians allocated to the Project;</p>
<p>Liaising with the Project Manager and other members of the Project Team to establish hardware feature content and requirements for internal and customer releases;</p>
<p>Take a primary role in the hardware design and development process including: hardware requirements specification and analysis, hardware system design, hardware functional design, hardware specification, participation in peer and formal reviews, preparation of test plans, specification and procurement of test equipment, coordinating and supporting the manufacture and test of prototypes;</p>
<p>Ensure that hardware development work is conducted in accordance with Company policies and procedures, and that such work meets relevant project, customer and Company quality and safety standards;</p>
<p>Ensure all supporting documentation relating to a hardware release is complete and accurate (including but not limited to: requirements documents, design documents, design review reports, test plans &amp; results, user documentation) and is held according to the Company’s policies;</p>
<p>Ensure the relevant hardware lifecycle is followed for assigned engineering activities;</p>
<p>Identify areas for improvement including tools, techniques and processes;</p>
<p>Ensure that any safety concerns identified are recorded in the project hazard log and are brought to the attention of the Chief Engineer</p>
<p>Ensure that any problems encountered during the hardware design and development process which might affect the performance or quality of the final product are brought to the immediate attention of the Project Manager and Chief Engineer Requirements:</p>
<p><strong>Hardware Electronics Engineer requirements:</strong></p>
<p>Degree-qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical and Electronic Engineering);</p>
<p>Experience of small to medium volume manufacturing and assembly techniques appropriate to rotating electrical machines;</p>
<p>Experience in the use of model-based development tools including Matlab, Simulink;</p>
<p>Familiarity with external motor control systems including power electronics, control methods and position sensor requirements would be advantageous;</p>
<p>Good test and analysis skills;</p>
<p>Good written and verbal communication skills;</p>
<p>Proficiency with standard office tools: Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc;</p>
<p>A team player with the additional ability to work alone unsupervised;</p>
<p>Highly-motivated and capable of working on concurrent activities;</p>
<p>Willingness to travel within the UK and world wide;</p>
